On a Corner. That’s Where it Started.

Inspired by great fresh ingredients, our small neighborhood bakery on a corner in downtown Chicago began creating artisan breads and freshly baked sweets. And upon a little success, neighbors began to ask us for sandwiches made with that fabulous bread, followed by homemade soups and salads, and even made-to-order scramblers. Our guests’ requests continued to inspire us as our bakery’s menu and business grew.

Today, we continue to fulfill the needs and desires of our neighbors with a menu of ingredient-inspired, prepared-to-order food. When you visit our cafe, you’ll see real kitchens in place of assembly lines. You’ll hear the chopping of over 40 types of fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables, and the sizzle of our real panini grill. You’ll see the stove’s open flame and feel the warmth from our ovens working all day long. They’re the traditions we established years ago that we still passionately follow today.

On Corner Bakery’s opening day in 1991, the menu featured freshly baked breads, great coffee and espresso. As our guests requested more items, and as we delivered, our menu evolved to include the extraordinary variety of fresh, wholesome, irresistible foods you know today. The brand continued to grow as we incorporated exciting flavors from different parts of the country, and we became Corner Bakery Cafe.

At Corner Bakery Cafe, we are passionate about all we do – especially the food we create and serve to our guests. We know that everyone has their own nutritional wants and needs, so we offer more than 100 Corner Combos under 600 calories, and with all dishes prepared to order, special requests are welcomed. Since Corner Bakery Cafe was founded in the quick-paced, urban atmosphere of downtown Chicago, the service style was designed to be fast and efficient, with guests bringing their own food to their tables. But as we grew beyond city limits, we knew we could do more. After all, standing in line is no one’s favorite pastime. We know our guests’ time is valuable, and we want them to relax and enjoy our warm hospitality. A Brand, Made from Scratch

In 2004, we dove deep into the hearts, minds and appetites of our guests to explore their connection with our cafes. That’s when we found our niche in the neighborhoods around us, introduced a new logo (that still gave a home to our lovable, signature Baker Boy) and brought a new “look and feel” to our dining rooms.

We began franchising in 2006 and have continued to grow and evolve our Corner Bakery Cafe brand through each unique franchisee relationship across the U.S. In November of 2014, our newest cafe model opened in Denton, Texas. It was a huge success with increased traffic, record sales and higher guest satisfaction for our unsurpassed quality. Today, we have strong partnerships with leaders in our industry, and we’re more passionate than ever about staying connected with our guests as we introduce Corner Bakery Cafe to new neighborhoods across the country.
