In 1991, Malinda Margiotta recognized the need for significant changes in the way children were cared for in the US, and she rose to the challenge. She designed and built a state-of-the-art facility, compiled a staff of quality professionals led by a fabulous management team, and ABC Child Care Center was born. Ms. Malinda created a lasting legacy in the Child Care world and is considered by many to have raised the bar for quality Child Care nationwide.

In 2004, ABC’s second location in Lake Harveston, ABC Child Care Village, opened! ABC Child Care Village is operated by Ms. Malinda’s daughter, Ms. Angel, and her husband, Mr. Shawn. Having grown up her whole life at ABC, Ms. Angel took a few years and traveled the world doing youth ministry! This is where she met Mr. Shawn, who would become her husband. Their heart for ministering to youth and children is what led them to run our Village location.

At the beginning of 2020, Ms. Malinda retired, and Ms. Angel and Mr. Shawn took over our Center location and now operate both locations! Angel and Shawn continue the legacy of high-quality Child Care and commitment to excellence that ABC has always been known for.

Something else that sets ABC apart is our accreditation through the NAEYC. ABC was one of the first and most prominent centers in Southern California to be accredited. We were also the first and one of the only centers to implement a mildly ill care room, our Chicken Soup Room! As a result, we have some of the lowest teacher-to-child ratios in the area and staff members who have been with us for decades!
