Celebrating over 20 years in business, Bluewater Grill was established in Newport Beach, California in 1996, by partners Rick Staunton and Jim Ulcickas. We have since grown into a family of seafood restaurants, located in resort communities, committed to serving guests pristine quality seafood, sustainably caught, and prepared classically or with a modern twist.

Fresh Sustainable Seafood:

We operate our own swordfish harpoon boat, the Pilikia, and serve the finest quality locally harpooned swordfish in season. Our fish are always the most pristine quality available as we purchase directly from fisherman, in season, at the peak of quality and freshness. Being fishermen at heart, we want to ensure the future availability of seafood and make responsible seafood purchasing a core value of our operation.

We offer more than 40 varieties of seafood annually, with oysters on the half shell, award winning chowder, a kid’s menu approved by the Kids LiveWell program of the National Restaurant Association, patio dining, full bar and wine list, brunch, and happy hour. We even have boat docks and bike racks at our locations!

High Spot Beer:

Bluewater is tapping its own draft beers! High Spot Beer is exclusively brewed for us by Dan Selis in San Diego's East Village neighborhood. Varieties include our High Spot Blonde, Pale Ale and IPA, all named as As a tribute to Bluewater’s rich fishing tradition, the beers feature names inspired by famous Southern California fishing spots where the restaurant sustainably harvests much of the fresh seafood and shellfish listed on its lunch and dinner menus.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Breast Cancer

Born in a promise between two sisters – Nancy Brinker to her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died from breast cancer at the age of 36 – our vow to end breast cancer forever has become the promise of millions. Since launching the breast cancer movement 25 years ago, we’ve transformed the culture – how the world talks about and treats this devastating disease and helping to turn millions of breast cancer patients into breast cancer survivors.

Pink Tie Ball Raises $703,000 to Fight Breast Cancer

Bluewater Grill hosted the sunset champagne reception at the Pink Tie ball, which raised $703,000 for the Orange County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure in 2016. Bluewater co-founder's wife Julie Ann co-hosted the event held at AV Irvine on May 7.
