About

Our History:

In 1982, CFLC opened group homes to reach the most vulnerable youth in Riverside County. These youth were homeless, abused, or abandoned at some point and in need of care. As needs of the youth and community grew, CFLC began to add programs that would provide more wraparound services for our youth and families in the community. A generation later, CFLC has expanded to provide Youth Opportunity Job Training Center’s (began in 1992), Foster Families (’95), Kin Care (’02), YouthBuild (’10), Mental Health program for STRTP home (’16), Legislative Intern Program (’17), SafeCare (’18), Adoption (’19), participation in the STEPS program (’20), Riverside Resource Network HUB (’22), and our newest Strengthening Families program (’23). The purpose of all these endeavors is to replace abuse, neglect, and hopelessness with affection, encouragement, and success.

Our Mission:

California Family Life Center's mission is to provide safety, comfort and healing to children suffering abuse and abandonment; to teach love and trust; to instill self-esteem, values and hope for the future - and in so doing, assist children trapped in hopelessness and despair become compassionate and contributing members of the community.

Accreditation:

California Family Life Center has been awarded the highest level of accreditation by CARF International for its Foster Family and Kinship Care, Group Home Care, and Support and Facilitation programs.
